Buy him an NFL jersey for Christmas

What's the greatest game on the planet? Would it be the toughest, most competitive and most attended game in the world? If satisfying any or all of those conditions were indeed to qualify a team sport for the title
American football is played in every state in America, with every other boy across the country dreaming of some day kitting out for his favourite team. It's more than an institution; it's a culture, a way of life.

The competitive league in which the sport is played, the National Football league (NFL), is made up of 32 teams. These 32 teams are in turn divided into what are called conferences: the American Football Conference (AFL) and the National Football Conference (NFL). Each conference has four divisions made up of four teams.

Last season, an average of sixty seven thousand fans attended each conference game. Yes, sixty seven thousand fans. These figures mean that American Football is the most attended domestic sports game in the word.

At the end of each regular season, six teams from each conference (at least one from each division) play in the NFL playoffs, a twelve-team single-elimination tournament that culminates with the championship game, known as the Super Bowl.
As the names of NFL teams suggest (Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars) there's a ferocity and a passion to the sport that only nature's fiercest animals can rival. The ferocious temperament is not exclusive to the players and applies to fans, too. Get between a man and his team on Super Bowl day and learn this for yourself.

A man who loves American Football is the easiest creature on the planet to please. Buy him an NFL jersey for Christmas, Valentines and his birthday. Figure out which team he roots for, then have fun listening to him tell you it's the best present he ever got.
